About the North Coast FishPAC

The North Coast FishPAC was established in 2003, and includes Caltrans District 1 (Eureka), California Department of Fish and Wildlife Region 1 (Northern), and the National Marine Fisheries Service Office jurisdictions of Arcata and Santa Rosa. Del Norte, Humboldt, and Mendocino counties are the geographic focus of the North Coast FishPAC. These counties have current/historic fish habitat, or known fish barriers, on the State Highway System. 

Four fish species of concern lie within the geographic scope of the North Coast FishPAC:

  • Oregon/Northern CA coho (Threatened)

  • Central CA Coast coho (Endangered)

  • Northern CA steelhead (Threatened)

  • CA Coastal Chinook (Threatened)
